Rideau

Terms of use

Rideau is a free information service run by volunteers. These terms say what the site does, what it does not do and what it cannot answer for. By using it, you accept them.

The service

Rideau lists the shops looted on 17 October 2026 and the fundraisers opened for them. It is a volunteer project, with no legal entity and no profit motive. Rideau collects no money, takes no commission and plays no part in any donation: it publishes links to fundraisers, nothing more.

The information we publish

It comes from public sources: the press, the shop owners' own channels, the fundraising platforms' pages. It is gathered and checked against the rules of our method, then provided as is, with no guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to date. A fundraiser, an amount or a situation can change at any time.

The fundraiser's platform is the authoritative source. The platform verifies the beneficiary's identity and pays out the funds.

Donations

Donating is your own decision. The donation is made on a third-party platform, under its terms, between you, that platform and the fundraiser's organiser. Before you give, read the fundraiser's page.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rideau and its volunteers are not liable for:

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law guarantees you.

Report, correct, remove

An error, outdated information, a fundraiser that looks suspicious: report it. We may correct, suspend or remove any entry at any time, especially when in doubt.

The shop owner space

Only the shopkeeper (the shop's owner or manager), or someone acting with their consent, may ask to manage the shop's entry.

The information sent must be true. We may refuse a request or remove an entry without giving a reason. A false claim may be reported to the authorities.

Open data

The map's data is published under the CC BY 4.0 licence: free reuse, crediting “Rideau (rideau.help)”.

External links

The site links to sites we do not control: fundraising platforms, media, social networks. Their content and their terms are the responsibility of their publishers.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. They may change: the version online applies and, where languages differ, the French version prevails. Personal data is handled as described in the legal notice.
